From Iceland’s Sunrise to Parisian Charm: We’ve Arrived!
After a night of travel and anticipation, our adventure officially began with a smooth landing in Iceland early this morning. Even though our time in Reykjavik was brief, it was a unique start—stepping out into the crisp Icelandic air, grabbing a much-needed coffee, and catching glimpses of volcanic landscapes through the airport windows. There’s something energizing about a layover in a place so different from our destination.
Soon, we were back in the air for the final leg to Paris. Spirits were high as we boarded our Iceland Air flight, knowing the City of Light was just a few hours away. The flight was comfortable, and as we descended, the excitement in our group was palpable.
Touchdown in Paris
We landed in Paris to beautiful spring weather and that unmistakable Parisian buzz. After collecting our luggage, we made our way through the airport, eager to start our European journey in earnest.
For our transfer to the hotel, we opted for a convenient shuttle service directly to Hôtel Le Sénat, which made the trip into the city smooth and stress-free. The drive offered our first glimpses of Parisian streets, bustling cafés, and elegant architecture—always a thrill, no matter how many times you visit.

Hôtel Le Sénat: Our Parisian Home
We’ve checked in at Hôtel Le Sénat, a boutique hotel perfectly located between the historic Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, just steps from the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg. The staff welcomed us warmly, and the cozy lobby—with its inviting bar and library—was a welcome sight after our travels. Our rooms are modern and comfortable, some with balconies overlooking classic Parisian rooftops.
The hotel’s location is ideal: a short walk to the Luxembourg Gardens, Odeon Metro, and countless cafés, shops, and landmarks[2][5]. After settling in, some of us took a stroll to stretch our legs and start soaking in the Parisian atmosphere.
First Parisian Evening: Le Rostand & Luxembourg Gardens
We gathered in the lobby, eager to find our first Parisian meal. Just a short stroll down the street, we discovered Le Rostand, a charming brasserie with outdoor tables that let us soak up the local atmosphere. Sitting outside, we enjoyed classic French dishes, people-watching, and the lively rhythm of Paris all around us.
After dinner, some of us wandered into the Luxembourg Gardens—a perfect way to unwind after a long journey. We strolled among statues and fountains, admired the grand architecture, and watched locals relaxing in the early evening light. The gardens were peaceful and beautiful, a true Parisian oasis.
On our way back, we stopped at a small market across the street to pick up some drinks and snacks for the hotel. Then it was time to head back, unpack, and settle in for a well-deserved good night’s sleep.
Tomorrow, we wake up in Paris, ready to explore! Montmarte tower, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, and Paris at night from the Seine. Stay tuned for more adventures from the heart of France.
